King Silas Back from the Dead!

Other headlines

Shiloh (RKG) - The country and the world were left speechless when King Silas Benjamin, thought assassinated at the Handover of Port Prosperity by Gath militants, walked through the streets of Shiloh this morning, backed by a legion of Goliath tanks.

The King walked up to the gates of Unity Hall, and declared his son Prince Jack Benjamin's coronation a sham – and an illegal coup d'etat. King Silas's return forced conspirators Jack Benjamin and William Cross – the Prince's Uncle – to flee for their lives, as Silas took back his throne by force of arms... a feat he accomplished without spilling an ounce of blood.

The day before the prince's coronation, rumors began to circulate through the country that King Silas was not dead, as had been reported by Unity Hall's press office. The King, from his hiding place, broadcast an underground radio transmission late Thursday night.

"A few days ago, our nation was the victim of a coup d'etat." King Silas stated in his radio address. "I send a message to the traitors who would depose me, who would subvert God's will, and the freedom of my people. I am the rightful lord of this nation. I and no other. Tomorrow, I will return to Shiloh to take my place, given me by God and citizen. Like an earthquake I will come."

And like an earthquake he did, with Goliath tanks rumbling through the streets of Shiloh, showing all that not only did Silas come back for his throne, he came back with a new ally at his side: Gath, who had been incorrectly identified as Silas's assassins.

Unable to fend off a legion of tanks without bringing a bloodbath to the city streets, Prince Jack surrendered, and was taken into custody by his father's guards upon King Silas's return to Unity Hall. His fate is unknown at this time, as usurpation of the throne is an unprecedented crime in Gilboa. William Cross eluded capture, and is at large.

Curiously, many citizens of Gilboa were very much in favor of crowning Jack king. He was polling at over 80% approval with his promise to retaliate for Gath's supposed assassination of his father, and terminate the handover of Port Prosperity, a hot button issue in recent months. However, after the King's underground radio broadcast exposed the coup, the Prince's approval rating plummeted, with only 4% wanting him to lead the country.

King Silas has been welcomed back with open arms, the peace he has forged with Gath at last a reality.
